Workplace Culture

Contribute to building a world’s best practice approach to creative therapy for people with disability, focusing not on the traditional diagnosis/treatment, medicalised approach, but on strengths-based development, creative expression and achievement of life goals.

At Creative Therapy, we are a team of allied health professionals who dream up creative approaches to their roles, which utilise artistic and creative skills. Research-based arts therapies like music therapy are growing in popularity as they become more understood and we believe there is no limit on other allied health therapists drawing on music therapy interventions and literature to work with their clients. We know the creative arts play a pivotal role in the fabric of human life and for a lot of people, they seem inaccessible. Through offering allied health therapies that focus on utilising the arts, we are opening up a world of expression to people who otherwise viewed music, drama, the visual arts and dance as the pastimes of a talented few.
It is our role to generate ways to help these art forms to reemerge into the lives of families of children and young people, to provide optimism and new ways of communicating that are fun and generate emotional connection and meaning. Using humans’ innate connection with music, drama, dance and art, we recognise first, their strengths in these areas to leapfrog them to build capacity and get closer to their goals.
We have a senior team of music therapists and work collaboratively with established creative arts therapists who run private practices. Our team is young, but growing. We are seeking a speech therapist, psychologist and occupational therapist who seek to use music, art, dance and creativity every day to get the best outcomes for their participants. We are constantly recruiting for creative arts therapists and qualified musicians, actors, dancers and artists who are seeking meaningful roles in the allied health sector.

We are a Child Safe Organisation and seek to provide an environment that is fun and welcoming for children and meets their needs.
We support the local arts and in particular, arts organisations that give creative avenues to people with disabilities so their voices too, can be heard.

Career Progression
