Programme Overview

“Music time to grow creative minds, busy bodies and big hearts”

Shake It Up! is a community-based music therapy programme designed to support early skill development in children under 5 years, preparing them for school and preschool.

This programme can be delivered in community spaces such as libraries, councils, and preschools, with attendance from caregivers. It can also be offered in early childhood settings including preschools, family daycare, and childcare centres, with support from educators.

Each programme is tailored by the facilitator to meet the specific needs of the group.

Facilitated by experienced music therapists using live music, sessions provide a warm and engaging space for children, families, and educators.

Weekly Themes

The 10-week programme covers key developmental themes including communication, emotional development, cognitive growth, motor skills, social interaction, and concludes with a wrap-up session.

The weekly themes are a guide rather than a fixed schedule. Each programme is tailored to the group’s interests, developmental needs and responses, so themes and activities may be adjusted as the programme requires.
